3-11 April 2005

The focus of this tour is the legacy of Romanesque art and architecture which spreads down the Loire from Orléans and into Burgundy. This area includes many of the most famous sites of the eleventh and twelfth centuries in France but we will also aim to visit some of the less well known monuments of the period. With a bus at our disposal, we can be flexible in our timetable and strike the right balance between the amount we see and the quality of attention we wish to give to each of the sites we visit.

A study tour book with notes about our visits will be provided along with some suggested reading at our preliminary meeting in spring.
